LumaSmart combines design experience with production expertise to create your custom electronics. We’ve already thought through many production challenges, allowing us to eliminate the most common issues before they even have a chance to arise.

With our 40,000 sq. ft. facility, we keep frequently used and critical components on hand, eliminating excessive lag time. This is especially helpful in today’s supply-chain crisis, allowing you to get your product in market sooner.

About Manufacturing

With a production capacity of 80 million placements per month, we can turn around prototypes in 2 to 4 weeks, perform 100% end-of-line testing, and complete production in 6 to 8 weeks — and sometimes even less.

We have high-speed SMT lines capable of up to 48” PCB assembly and MCB, Fr4, CEM3, and flexible PCBs

Robotic Selective Conformal Coating: Sprays a protective coating around LEDs and solder joints, mainly for high moisture/exposure to elements
Solder Paste Inspection (SPI): Measures solder paste height following its application to the PCB; verifies consistency by being repeatable and reproducible
Wave Solder: Ensures efficient thru-hole soldering of non-surface mount components
X-Ray: Enables inspection under components to check for solder paste integrity after burning off flux and reflowing the solder

LumaSmart supports customers as both a custom design house taking designs to production and as a strict contract manufacturer of designs provided by you. By harnessing our experience and abilities, we help get your concept onto the production line and into the hands of your customers. And because we know time is money, we do it quickly, often completing prototypes in 2-4 weeks and production in 6-8 weeks.

Our in-house testing equipment and capabilities are unmatched. We meet our customers’ testing needs and make recommendations based on our expertise to ensure quality and function. We will even create custom testing processes for a specific product or component, ensuring it is production ready.

Functional & Optical Testing

Each project we handle will have its own customized testing process to ensure proper electrical connections, solder integrity, color that meets spec requirements, lumen output, and so much more.

We even perform small-batch testing, validating the performance of the kit. If we uncover a deficiency, we will remedy the issue before it heads back to production. Our multi-check process ensures a consistent and reliable product.

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI): Captures images of new parts and compare/contrast against a gold unit with reference photos, using a combination of software, camera and scanner
